Common Questions

Why is my soap cloudy?

Karic soap will become cloudy when stored at cold temperatures. This is normal and is due to the oils in the soap solidifying slightly due to the colder temperatures. When your soap warms up it will return to its natural clear state.

How organic is your soap?

Karic Organic Liquid Soap is certified organic to the USDA National Organic Program standards. USDA_black

Do your organic soaps contain glycerin?

Yes. Glycerin is a natural part of the vegetable oils we use to make our herbal soap, so it is a natural part of all Botanie soaps. Our soaps qualify as “glycerin soaps,” because glycerin accounts for 9-10% of the final product. Unlike most commercial soap companies, we retain all glycerin produced during the saponification process. Since glycerin is a sellable commodity, commercial soap makers remove it for sale, or they keep trace amounts for mention on their labels.

I have sensitive skin and can't use soap. Can I use KARIC organic soap?

Although we cannot guarantee it, chances are, yes. Most skin sensitivities are aggravated by the synthetic ingredients in lotions, creams, make-up, and soaps. Without these ingredients, however, there is nothing left to irritate your skin. Many people who have had trouble with dermatologist recommended soap or “sensitive skin” soap have found success with Karic’s organic Soap. This is because even doctor recommended sensitive skin soaps contain many unnecessary chemicals that can, and do, irritate your skin. Again, always read the list of ingredients in your soap. Although many people with sensitive skin enjoy using our scented herbal soap varities, we recommend our Unscented Soap for people with extreme sensitivities.

Are your soaps safe for babies?

Karic’s soaps are exceptionally mild and safe for babies, however they are not tear-free, so it’s important to be very careful and make sure that the soap does not get in your baby’s eyes (or yours either!).
For babies, we especially recommend our Unscented line, as their skin can be sensitive to the essential oils that are in our scented soaps.
Most tear-free formulations on the market use some kind of synthetic numbing agent. We have chosen to keep our soaps free of any such chemical additives.

Do you test on animals?

We understand that animal testing is a key concern for a growing number of consumers, we can confidently state that all of our formulations are safety and efficacy tested on people.

At Green World Soap, we uphold very strict guidelines through our regularly audited manufacturing partners that uphold the ‘no animal testing’ policy. It’s important for you to know that no retailer or manufacturer can categorically state that ‘none’ of their raw materials or ingredients have –at some time in the past- been tested on animals. The majority of individual raw materials used in cosmetics today have been through some kind of animal testing process.

Why is Karic Soap better for me than store brand soap or body wash?

Commercial soaps extract the moisturizing glycerin that is naturally produced when making soap. They sell the glycerin for a bigger profit for use in lotions and other high-end products. They also use lard (pork fat) or tallow (beef fat) as their oil base. We do not extract the glycerin and use no animal fat in our products. In addition, our ingredients are hand selected for quality and each batch is made by hand with the utmost care, not manufactured in a commercial plant. Body wash is not soap – it is synthetic detergent!

Why do you use organic fragrance oils?

Organic Fragrance Oils  are made  containing the finest Organic and Natural Ingredients derived from Nature and have distinct scents which are used in our soaps,  they are Organic USDA Certified,  plus smell GREAT.
